Don graduated from Madison High School in 1955. In all 12 years he never missed a day of school. After graduating high school, he then went on to serve in the U.S. Air Force until being honorably discharged. He worked many jobs, Highway Dept., Steel Mill, Humphries Auto, Vail Mine, Cadiz Portal and Nelms#2 Coal Mines. He than opened Stine’s Auto Repair in Freeport. When he retired, he made wood crafts with his wife, Yvonne. Don passed away In January of 2021. He has two great-grandchildren that attend BTES currently, both in 5th grade, Presleigh Piatt and Stetson Patterson to whom he adored.
