Rick served in the US Marine Corps from 1985-1989. He completed boot camp at Parris Island in South Carolina, and was primarily stationed at Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, North Carolina. While enlisted his MOS was 1833, Amphibious Assault Vehicle Operator. Prior to discharge from the Marine Corps he obtained the rank of Corporal (E4). While enlisted he spent much of his time deployed overseas, traveling to places like Egypt, Germany, Norway, Spain, France, Italy, Denmark, Turkey, Israel, Kenya and many others.
